@abc7chicago: A cheeky three-year-old in Idaho who wanted to visit his grandma took matters into his own hands and ran half a mile to her house – a journey caught on various security cameras. Home security footage from mom Hannah Driscoll shows the boy sneaking out the back door and taking off running, barefoot, down the street. Video from his grandmother’s system shows his arrival at her house. “On Sunday morning, just before 8:00, my 3-year-old asked if we could go to his grandma’s house. I told him no because it was early, and I believed he had accepted that answer,” Hannah Driscoll told Storyful. “I called him upstairs for breakfast, assuming he was downstairs playing with siblings while I finished getting ready. Instead, he quietly let himself out of the house to walk [the] 1/2 mile to GJs. By the time I realized what had happened, I already knew my son was safe because my mom had called me. My first emotions were disbelief and overwhelming relief, followed by a lot of guilt as I processed how quickly it had happened. Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful the story ended safely and that it became an opportunity for us to make changes to our homes safety.”
