spears for the win! extended reach for smaller or mounted warriors, less metal used to make the spearhead as opposed to a blade, so its more efficient when trying to arm a large group. spear heads or poles can be replaced rather easily if one part is to break. not to mention its literally the most ancient weapon aside from maybe clubs and big rocks. literally prehistoric!
