He could keep a job and had no plans for his future except that he wanted us to get married one day. He was unemployed for over a year crashing with friends or moving back in with parents who were less than thrilled about it while I paid for every date and fun thing I wanted us to do together. I even bought him food to keep him from going hungry a few times. I told him that if he didn’t know what he was doing with his life by the time I got my bachelor’s degree I was out (keep in mind he was two years older than me and it took me 5.5 years to get my degree bc I was working at the same time and did a lot of part time semesters). He wasn’t even trying to figure his life out. So one day I just got fed up and broke up with him, and he was out there telling people “I thought I had until she graduated.” Like he was seriously going to wait until the last minute to get a job and support himself??I wasn’t even asking for him to support me, I just wanted him to pull his own weight and get a job so he could stop mooching off everyone around him and we could maybe move in together or something. 💀
