@fighting.thompsons: One might think having your 4 year-old daughter diagnosed with a life-threatening and debilitating disorder would be your worst nightmare. It was. And then it got worse. A week later my 1 year-old son was diagnosed with the same condition. Two medically complex children, both at risk of dying.
Two bone marrow transplants on the horizon. Except my daughter doesn’t have a donor match. Not one in the global registry of over 42 million people.

We decided to use her father, a half-match, because we know she won’t survive childhood without this life saving treatment. And then it got worse. 

One week before our scheduled admission, we learned my husband was not cleared to donate because his labs came back with concerning results warranting referral to a hematologist.

So much uncertainty and fear, but we know the Lord goes before us and is preparing a way. (Deut 1:30)

We know God has a plan for us - not to harm us, but to give us a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
