One of the hardest parts of istikharah isn’t making the du’a. It’s accepting Allah’s answer. We ask, “Ya Allah, if this matter is good for me, decree it for me, make it easy for me and bless it for me. And if it is bad for me, turn it away from me, turn me away from it, and decree for me what is best wherever it may be, then make me content with it.” Then, somehow, we still spend days trying to force the very thing we asked Allah to decide. If you sincerely asked Allah to choose what is best for you, then let go. Stop trying to hold onto one particular outcome. Stop trying to convince yourself that your preferred option must be the right one. Watch what Allah opens. Watch what He closes. Watch what He brings back to you. Watch what He removes from your life. Whatever remains after you’ve entrusted the matter to Allah is part of His answer. It may not look like what your heart wanted today, but Allah sees what your eyes cannot. The One who knows the unseen knows what will bring you closer to Him, protect your dunya and your akhirah, and benefit you in ways you may never fully understand. True yaqeen is not saying, “Ya Allah, choose what is best for me,” while secretly hoping He chooses what I want. True yaqeen is saying, “Ya Allah, choose what is best for me,” and then being at peace with whatever He chooses. May Allah grant us hearts that trust His wisdom more than our own desires. Ameen. 🤍
