so it was supposed to be just white on the outside, no writing. my sil picked it up and her last name is davis, also my bfs last name, luckily. she told them it wasn’t supposed to have anything, and they said it was just standard for their gender cake so she left with it 🤷🏻♀️even if it was supposed to have letters, they’re very poorly placed and crooked.. it was still a perfectly good cake that i just fixed myself and we still used for our gender reveal and ate after (: also their cakes taste delicious!

I wouid like to submit my $500 Publix wedding cake from 13 years ago. I still get mad seeing this picture. It’s the only one our photographer took because she saw the horror on my face when I realized it had shag carpet-esque frosting between the tiers.

I know it's too late for yours, but future people with a cake disaster. Use your finger or butter knife and dip it in water. Then LIGHTLY touch the cake. Water keeps it from sticking and let's your smooth it back down! (Sincerly a grocery store cake decorator that has fix a lot of cakes after mondecorators try to "help" me)

Tip in case there’s a next time with icing as an ex baker; put the cake in the freezer for 15-20 mins to freeze up that icing, & then scrape it off gently. It minimizes the damage to the base layer. Sometimes if your lucky the mistake you want gone just pops off

Gender reveal cakes typically don’t welcome the unborn baby either 😂😂 if they say anything at all it’s typically just boy or girl? written on it maybe with little foot prints in blue and pink or a little detail to the theme of the gender reveal party
