First, I never said Mary has to “stick to the Bible.” Second, Mary did believe the preserved scripture. She also believe the Word of God proclaimed to her by the Angel. As for whether Mary believed the gospel, the answer is yes. She did. She was a faithful disciple of Christ, a modern disciple surrendered to his will.

I think everyone here is misinformed on the brown scapular. The Catholic Church explicitly states that the brown scapular isn’t what gets you into heaven. It is a devotion, just how John the Baptist lived the Nazirite vow (which is a type of devotion to God). The Brown scapular is a devotion to the mother of God who always points towards Christ. We don’t believe we can buy our way to heaven or live a sinful life but God has to let us into heaven if we die with a brown cloth. What gets us into heaven is our faith, it’s our works with love (faith). I hope this clears up the Catholic position on this. I know it’s confusing for Protestants, I was a former Baptist and I thought the Catholic Church was demonic.

Fair enough — you’ve clearly put the work in, and I respect that. We might see things differently, but at the end of the day we’re both just trying to follow Jesus as best we know how. God bless you, mate — take care.

An apparition is not required to be believed by the Church. Maybe start from there.

This is the problem when you hold tradition above everything. Any “tradition” can come and creep into the church.

But even if I or an angel from heaven preach to you a gospel other than the one you have received (past tense) from us (the 12 apostles) let them be accursed

Point one you prove my point, you can read it, but you cannot interpret it nor disagree with the priest. Thank you for that. .2 you went right back to the same argument as before. Catholics circular argument. Goes like this. Jesus founded the Catholic Church. Peter was the first pope. Catholics gave you the Bible kiss our feet. Only Catholics can interpret scripture and they are infallible and cannot be wrong on any interpretation. And it goes round and around. last point and most critical. You do pray to Mary catechism 2679 states it four times in those paragraph. So don’t say you don’t, you do. Secondly you quoted a scripture. Pray for each other. Absolutely. Catholics do not understand pray to and pray for. You have to pray to Mary for her to pray for you. Same with a saint. To and for can you see the difference. If I pray for you that’s not a problem. If I stand in front of you and pray to you, you can’t hear me. It’s in my mind. Again apostolic succession. No one has that ability to hear prayers 1 million all at once in 200 different languages. Explain to me how someone in another dimension outside of time space or matter can hear your prayer who was created being. it all falls apart brother and you never answer my Philippians chapter 4 verse six at all. If God tells you under any circumstances, whatever the reason or want to ask him for something, it should go to him directly. Mary is not mentioned in that scripture. Follow this. God knows every prayer before you pray correct? Make this make sense. You’re going to pray to Mary. God already knows this. You pray to Mary. Mary accepts it takes it to Jesus who already knew the prayer anyway. That makes Mary irrelevant. She plays no part in your salvation, but you do it anyways.

So this lady thinks she can... buy her way into heaven? Doesn't the bible say something about this? You cannot buy your way into heaven; the Bible teaches that salvation is a free gift from God found in Ephesians 2:8–9 and Acts 8:20. Key Verses on Buying Spiritual Favor Acts 8:20 (Peter's Rebuke): Peter tells a man named Simon, "May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!" This shows that spiritual power and salvation cannot be purchased. Ephesians 2:8–9 (Salvation as a Gift): "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." Psalm 49:6–8 (The Price of a Life): "Those who trust in their wealth and boast in their great riches, no one can truly redeem another or give to God the price for their life—the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough." Why Money Fails Matthew 19:23–24: Jesus explains that it is very hard for rich people to enter heaven, comparing it to a camel going through the eye of a needle, because wealth leads people to trust in themselves rather than God. 1 Peter 1:18–19: You were not saved with things like silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ.
