What a nightmare.. Imagine this, you throw a solid kick, and SNAP, CRACK, POP, your shin breaks on contact. Im sure its your worst nightmare, sadly, it’s not just bad luck, it’s often the result of poor bone density and lack of proper conditioning. HARSH TRUTH 🔴 fighters who don’t strength train are at higher risk of serious injuries, including shin fractures! WHY? Bone Density is key to staying injury free in combat sports. Fighters who only run, do bag work, or sparring without focusing on resistance training (S&C) are missing out on strengthening one of the most critical aspects of their body, their bones. When you think strength don’t just think about muscle or more power, think about it as building a resilient, bulletproof body. Weight exercises like squats, deadlifts, and plyometrics stimulate bone growth (increase mineral density) and make your skeleton more solid. Kinda like armor. The more you train with resistance, the more you strengthen that internal shield. Athletes who do resistance training have 10-30% higher bone density than those who don’t. Plus tend to increase longevity in the sport. Fighters skipping out on this are literally walking into the ring with fragile bones waiting for them to crack. Running is essential, but it doesn’t stimulate bones the way resistance training does. If you’re one of those fighters who only run + focus on technique you’re not getting the mechanical stress required for optimal bone health. This leaves you at a higher risk of shin fractures, stress fractures, and potentially devastating injuries during fights. And guess what? Recovery from a broken bone can take months, time you could be spending improving instead of healing. Moral of the story ⚠️ If you’re not doing strength training, you’re putting yourself in harm's way. Make strength and conditioning a non-negotiable part of your training to ensure you're not just strong in the ring but bulletproof where it matters most, with something very few think or know about, in your bones! How much S&C do you need to make a difference? 2 hours a week! Not a bad time investment for a long list of benefits. 👉🏼 Questions? Drop them below #fighterperformance #deadlifts #fighttraining #contrasttraining #explosivepower #sportsperformance #combatsport #muaythai #strengthandconditioning #fighter #power #performance #training #Fitness #crossfit #bjj #mma #fightbydesign
