My Post Partum D&A was sooo bad my husband made the right decision in separating me and our son and having me admitted.i told him when I was pregnant if I started to get bad to do it even if was against my wishes. It was hard on everyone but no one knows how hard it is to deal with that. Let alone Post partum psychosis. I couldn’t imagine. She was failed and so were those kids

She didn’t choose postpartum psychosis. She didn’t choose to unalive her kids. Psychosis makes rationale thought impossible. If she was sane, she wouldn’t have ended her kids lives. People need to understand that.

Everyone told me I was having the “sundown scaries” but I was having panic attack meltdowns several times a day and I am still scared of having another. This woman and her children were failed by everyone around them

keiner der nicht selbst schon unter einer Psychose oder postpartalen Depression oder Einnahme verschiedener Antipsychotika etc. gelitten hat, sollte diesen Fall bewerten dürfen. Das ist so als würde ich über das Gefühl einer Beinamputation reden aber habe noch beide Beine.

i was in the MIDDLE of my postpartum spiral when this happened. this case is what urged me to get help and now that i’m on the other side of it, watching her now, holding my own baby like she should be holding hers…. im devastated.

I read a comment on another post regarding this case and it really, really stuck with me, it said something alone the lines of ‘so many people think justice is punitive, but true justice for these babies would be a reform of women’s mental health while postpartum and access to resources- quickly and without judgement.’ Just 👏🏼

She needs to be held accountable, but this case needs to be the reason postpartum mental health care is vital and needs to be taken seriously and not treated as a punishment for asking for help.
