Yesssss I'm just getting into this but I have been a mom for 7 years and I hate hearing folks say my job is down when my child is 18 I hate it with everything in me cause that's not how that work just because their 18 doesn't mean their ready an it doesn't mean your jobs stops as a mother

Proper hygiene! Boys and girls. There is NO reason for them to not know how to care for themselves properly AND their sexual health!!!!

It is NOT disrespectful for a child to ask questions. How else will they understand? They don't have to hug or kiss family members. They can set boundaries

My hot take is that a LOT more sexual assault happens in the home than people think because so many forms of SA aren’t widely known as/considered SA. People will SA their kids and not know it’s SA because it wasn’t considered SA when it happened to them, so they keep doing it.

My parent didn’t teach me how to cook, how to apply for jobs, or tell me how many jobs I need to apply for to get one. They didn’t practice any sort of interviewing or tell me how to prepare.

This!!! I had no idea what I was doing and I was shoved out and told to figure it out. My dad didn’t give a dang and my mom was passed away. My grandmother did the bare minimum and when I graduated (valedictorian btw) giving my speech, with my car packed with all my stuff and nowhere to go

And stop bullying your kids thinking it's funny when they don't know something when it's your job to teach them. You child thinks their social is the name they use on Instagram but you haven't taught them what a SSN is.

Some 18 year olds are in the 12th grade and tbh you have to raise them up to 21

My 18th birthday, my mother walked into my bedroom at 5 AM and said today is the day you learn about the 18 to 30 rule… you’re 18 today. You have 30 days to get a job and to get the hell out of my house. Mind you, this was after she put me out before when I was 15 for being a fairy 🧚 😅🤣 i’ve been shopping for not so luxurious retirement homes as a mental stem🤣🤣🤣

Mine says he’s leaving at 18 (please believe his bread is buttered here) I laughed at him and told him that’s a crazy idea and def not happening 😂 he’s 15 and has the common sense of a dry leaf. Book smart all day though. He tried to put a metal bowl in the microwave a couple weeks ago

And start young on those life skills. A three year old can help fold towels, feed pets, gather trash.

My momma had us doing chores and helping cook and clean from childhood. We knew what was required to keep ourselves going. We were farmers so we learned about budgets and money. So an adults we were prepared. We were taught how to act right in public and carry ourselves with respect.
