“Asian pop” is not a musical genre but a geographic label. Asian artists create pop, hip-hop, R&B, rock, electronic, and many other genres, just like artists everywhere else. Categorizing them by where they come from rather than the music they make creates unnecessary divisions. True inclusivity means recognizing artists for the quality of their work, not their region or ethnicity. BTS didnt fight just for them. But for all the artist that comes for ASIA

you have it a bit wrong. They aren't angry cause now swim doesn't fit in that asian category. They have other songs on arirang that bts could submit and they would've won it anyway. The issue is that for main categories they are "way too asian" to win but for that asian category they are "not enough asian anymore" considered the fact how a song should now fully be sang in an asian language to be considered which is dumb. Are they no longer asian just because the language isn't Korean? Also it was clear that the category was made to finally give bts that win and shut them up. it's like we gonna continue use your name for views and invite you to perform but no matter how big your song/album is we never gonna give you that win for a maim category. But you can have the asian one because no grammys darling gonna be competing for this category against you. Mind you arirang was the biggest album this year and grammys waited for bts to return to make this category is very insane

The Grammys have always been doing the most to keep people of color from achieving the most prestigious awards like Album of the Year or Song of the Year. BTS calling them out is necessary and right.
