“MY FAMILY HAS LIVED IN PAIN, QUESTION, AND HEARTBREAK FOR 41 YEARS” A family who waited decades for answers about the disappearance of their loved one is finally getting results. In March 1985, Rose Marie Gayhart went missing from her Cape Coral, Florida home. At the time she lived with her boyfriend, Robert Paddock, and his mother who claimed that she was kicked out of the home and left with a suitcase. She reportedly got into a red truck with an unknown man. However, a neighbor told a much different story and claimed that Rose had gotten into a fight with Paddock over her being pregnant and wanting to keep the baby. For over decades, Rose’s case went cold until May 2024, when a kayaker discovered human remains in a canal five minutes from where Rose used to live. In May 2026, those remains were confirmed to be Rose’s. In July, investigators went back to the canal to search for more evidence that could help them solve the mystery behind Rose’s death.
