Lindsey Clancy had akathesia from being overmedicated. ive had akathisia. as soon as I heard her story I knew with zero doubt thats what caused this. its the worst hell on earth caused by psych drugs, and causes SI and HI.

This is why mental healthcare is so important. There should be educational programs for soon-to-be parents that include serious lessons about postpartum psychosis. It’d make a difference.

You weren’t failed by your HUSBAND. He was alert and responsible and cared enough about you and his child to make difficult decisions. Lindsay’s husband showed no care for his wife or children. He was negligent and should be charged for that.

This!!!! My husband didn’t leave me alone with my kids for a lil over a month AFTER I came back from the hospital. I felt offended at first, and I asked why. I guess he had done some research on what I was going through and he had seen some really serious cases and took it really seriously. I’m so glad the people at the hotline took me seriously I’m so glad my doctors took me seriously and the hospital took me seriously and just kept me. It’s the scariest thing I have ever been through. Psychosis is so scary. I don’t wish it on anybody.

See that’s what doesn’t add up about this case. Either all of these doctors missed something that should be glaringly obvious to anybody…or that’s not what was going on with her.

my former therapist killed her 3 month old while in psychosis. she intended to kill the rest of the family then herself but had a moment of clarity and told her husband what she did then called 911 on herself. her now ex-husband is a very well regarded psychiatrist and even she couldn't receive appropriate care. earlier this year, she was found criminally not responsible. I really don't think people realize how dangerous psychosis is or how often it can end in tragedy if treatment isn't aggressive. SO thankful you received swift and effective care ❤️

Most of us who work in psych/behavioral try to make our patients feel so loved & cared for & seen. Please don’t ever be scared to reach out for help, it’s a big step & it’s scary but worth it

I’ve always thought “who leaves their suicidal wife home alone with small kids”!? I’m not saying it’s the husbands fault, but you don’t leave suicidal people alone- ESPECIALLY with the stress of small kids. Ever.
