How do you say goodbye to ten years? How do you put an entire decade into words—six years of marriage, two beautiful children, countless memories, a million conversations, inside jokes, arguments, tears, laughter, celebrations, disappointments, dreams, and a life that once felt like it would last forever? The truth is, I don’t think you can. For ten years, “us” was such a huge part of who I was. We grew up together in so many ways. We experienced some of the most beautiful moments of our lives side by side, and we also walked through seasons that changed us forever. We built a home, created a family, and brought two incredible children into this world. No matter how our story ended, they will always be the greatest and most beautiful thing that came from our love. There were good years. There were hard years. There were moments when we loved each other deeply, moments when we couldn’t understand each other at all, and moments when we held on simply because letting go felt too painful and too frightening. There were times we brought out the best in one another, and there were times we brought out wounds neither of us knew how to heal. I won’t pretend it was all bad, because it wasn’t. There was real love here. There was laughter that made my stomach hurt. There were late-night conversations, family traditions, ordinary days that didn’t feel important at the time but now live permanently in my memories. There were holidays, birthdays, firsts, lasts, victories, losses, and years when we were simply trying to figure out life together. But I also won’t romanticize the pain. There were tears no one saw, words that couldn’t be taken back, loneliness inside a relationship that was supposed to feel like home, and versions of myself that became smaller while trying to hold everything together. There were moments I questioned my worth, my strength, and whether I would ever recognize the woman looking back at me again. Sometimes, two people can love each other and still become unhealthy for one another. Sometimes, the history is real, the memories are meaningful, and the family you created is forever—but the relationship still has to end. Accepting that has been one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I grieved this marriage long before I finally said goodbye. I grieved the future I thought we would have, the promises we made, the family picture I worked so hard to protect, and the version of us I kept hoping we could find again. I grieved the person I used to be, the dreams I carried, and all the years I spent believing that holding on was the same thing as being strong. But sometimes strength is not found in holding on. Sometimes strength is finally opening your hands and releasing what has already released you. So this is my goodbye. Goodbye to the relationship that shaped so much of my adulthood. Goodbye to the marriage I once believed would last a lifetime. Goodbye to the home we tried to build, the future we imagined, and the version of myself who thought she had to stay broken to keep everyone else whole. I don’t regret the entire story. I could never regret the two beautiful lives that came from it. I will always be grateful for the moments that were genuine, for the lessons that changed me, and for the memories that deserve to be remembered with kindness. But I am also learning that gratitude does not require me to remain somewhere I no longer belong. I can appreciate what was and still accept that it is over. I can forgive without forgetting what it taught me. I can love the family we created without continuing the relationship that created it. I can wish you healing, happiness, and a beautiful life while choosing a completely different path for myself. And for the first time in a long time, I am choosing me. I am choosing peace over familiarity. I am choosing healing over pretending. I am choosing growth over fear. I am choosing to rebuild a life that feels honest, safe, and truly mine. #fyp #fypシ゚viral #foryoupage #startingover #newchapter
