The whole relationship is based on her main characteristic being a caretaker. She is with him because he gives her that feeling of being needed. Aang’s whole deal is feeling responsible for the extinction of the air nomads so of course he is more focused on that rather than incorporating water tribe in his outfits as they are already established cultures. One thing you all don’t get about oldest daughters is that we are tired of constantly being the ones to make decisions and do things, many of us do want to just find a man that we can lean on. It’s not a downfall to not strive to be a badass independent woman all the time. She is grown and her priorities are the same as the man she loves give her some respect.
