Every season does matter. I hunt with my kids. My daughter is a beast. She’s a learner and a killer. My son has been in the hills since he was 4…he’s 21 now and a hunting guide for Steve Chappell. He’s my eagle eyes, those kids make me so proud to be at camp with them. I have a buck tag and a bull tag in Az this year and I’m fucking ready to go!!

My first year at elk camp I was 5 months old now I’m 53 and haven’t missed a season. My Dad is 77 now now and is still hunting the same areas that he started hunting back in 1972. I do miss all the family members that have passed that used to be in camp.

I had to teach myself how to do it all. and im at the point I get more joy out of helping the people I care about fill their tags and building those memories then actually filling my own tags. dont get me wrong I still fill my tags but for some reason I prefer to be by myself when I do.

Yes! Every season does matter. My family and I are in the stage where we just want to watch our boys knock them down. We love helping them and even helping the friends we have made up there. This reminds me of the song Elk Camp Chef by Tony Wintrip. Gets me every time 🥹.

I've gone through this cycle all the way to the point that my dad, my mentor, can no longer make it to the mountains. This year, I'm taking my wife up the hill to try and get her first bull. Not the same, but still incredibly awesome. And dad will be our first call.

Got me crying before I’ve finished my coffee damn. My dad has hit the age where he can no longer get out there with us and I don’t know if I’ve experienced such heart break. I love that guy and miss him every step I take up the mountain and I’m always excited to get back to camp or to service where I can fill him in on the whole day.

my biggest problem is I am still young enough to hunt and drive but I will take any kid or any older one to hunt. my greatest hunt last year was taking a 70 year old man on his first bow bull at 11 yrds
