@animalswildlove: @dean Schneider About Dean Schneider: I am a Swiss national who has dedicated my entire life to the animal world! Today, I live in Africa; I am part of a lion pride, my wife is a hyena, and I am the "dad" to two monkeys. Furthermore, over the past two years, I have become a global voice for our planet's wildlife! Born in Switzerland (Zurich) on October 3, 1992, I was fortunate to grow up in a loving family, surrounded by my sister (one year my senior) and my parents, who always supported me with great affection. My mother is from the Balkans (Southeast Europe), while my father is a Swiss citizen. I discovered my deep passion for wildlife at the age of six or seven, thanks to the legendary Steve Irwin! He brought the wild into my living room in Zurich, inspiring and educating me about all kinds of animal species. Although passionate about animals, I initially followed a very conventional path into adulthood, eventually working in the finance sector as a financial advisor. After a highly successful year, I decided to start my own business; over the next three years, this allowed me to build the financial resources needed to launch the Hakuna Mipaka project when I was 23 or 24. After beginning my life in South Africa, additional financial support from my family enabled me to develop the Hakuna Mipaka oasis for two years without relying on revenue sources such as tourist visits or programs, animal breeding or trading, donations, or any other profit-generating activities! About Hakuna Mipaka: The Hakuna Mipaka oasis spans approximately 400 hectares (four million square meters) in the heart of the South African wilderness! It is home to thousands of different species of wild animals! Furthermore, the oasis serves as a lifelong refuge for certain rescued wild animals that were born in captivity. We also run rehabilitation programs for various animals, which are subsequently released back into the wild. Hakuna Mipaka Oasis is my personal home as well as a private sanctuary that is NOT open to the public. We do not host tourists, nor do we allow day visits or activities involving the animals! We do not breed or trade animals. I built this place for the animals, not for humans. Hakuna Mipaka Oasis provides a safe, wild, and permanent home for the animals living there.
