I have soooo many atheist friends who think like this and i understand them. We never talk about religion and if they want to, i just say that i see what they mean. I love all my friends, i love all the good people. I dont care about people’s religious beliefs or sexualities. My point is, i really hope people could do that. Its harder to hate on someone than to respect and love them. I read a lot and one of the best opinions I’ve seen on religion is that religion is a thing people should enjoy and feel peaceful in. I also think that atheists are strong for not believing in any god or religious ideology. Oh, and I really understand that most religions are based on patriarchy, i feel sorry for not being a perfect feminist. I just wanted to say this about myself. (English is my third language pls be kind)

I told my very Christian friend I wasn’t religious, mostly because it never sat right with me, especially considering I’m black and the whole “using religion to colonize and demonize things” I even explained to her why I felt that way and she straight up looked at me and said “ what’s colonizing? “ and I basically had too explain too her slavery, and she quite literally said in my face “ Jesus suffered just like black people” it truly hurt my soul she would say that.

was friends w a girl freshman year of college who was christian and had a gay sister and i remember one time we were talking about the bible and she said how she doesn’t hate her sister she just hates the sin and kept refusing to admit that she’s just homophobic
