as the game becomes a larger franchise I hope her disability stays a disability and they don't eventually turn back and say "oh actually the hallucinations were actually a curse the whole time, once she finishes *blank* she'll be "cured""

As a schizophrenic with auditory hallucinations as my main symptom, i can say confidentiality that no other game depicts auditory hallucinations as well as Hellblade. It's seriously not even fucking close. There are times that im playing the game and the voices will start to blend together. They put so much effort into making this hell as real and accurate as they can. If you haven't played it yet you need to go spend the 30 dollars and play the damn game.

I really love what you are doing with this series. It's really nice to see more depictions of disabilities, I also like how it's a mix of all different types of disabilities. In addition to emphasing how disabilities don't define you.

I viewed the game as more than just an experience—as an actual game. And it was well worth it. The voices whispering in my head from all sides, the blend of my altered perception and the world’s mystical qualities, quickly drew me in, and suddenly I wanted to accompany Sennua and help her—not just play through a game.

It took me a couple of tries to play this cause it made me anxious the first time but I LOVE Hellblade so much! Hellblade II was the first time I saw something similar to the "shadow people" I experience in a piece of media. There was something so comforting about seeing it.

I decided I wanted to play this the second I saw that it uses binaural sound, but ended up just watching a bit of JackSepticEye's video, as I couldn't justify buying a game I wasn't sure I'd finish. I may have to go pick it up, now that I'm reminded of it. 🤔

This is the only game I've ever played that accurately depicts unmedicated psychotic symptoms. Her character brings me a lot of solace, and I'm glad the game depicted her journey of learning to manage (albeit unconventionally, given the time period) and live alongside her symptoms. She grows. There is light for her. She and her story will forever be close to my heart.

I cried when I started playing this game because the audio playing in my ears matched the way my brain sounds and I felt SO. SEEN. This is one of my favourite games of all time; the “clunky” play style adds to the story’s impact. Same reason I love games like KCD and Silent Hill: Short Message

i was drawn to this game at store one time - and the fact that they collaborated with a professional and patients of mentall illness to make the game realistic and simulate pschosis/auditory hallucinating out of respect and accuracy makes it worth to play! had me in tears in the first installment (": PEAK CHARACTER AND PEAK GAME
