You don’t need braided line, you need to tie better knots. I catch monster browns with 6x tippet. That about 1 pound test at the end of the knot.

If you're worried about the teeth, run braided. But my dad and I have both caught 25+ inch browns on just regular fluoro line. Also helps if you don't set the hook like it's a bass haha. Also try out some rainbow, brown or Brook colored rapalas. Either jointed or the count downs. I've caught a lot of big browns on them
