Regardless of why there is always snakes around wild black berries, just want to point that that the folks that that have blackberries without thorns have said they’ve never seen snakes around theirs! 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Thorns have absolutely nothing to do with it. Common sense says birds and mice are there to eat the berries and the snakes eat the small animals.

I used to hunt blackberry patches with my grandma when I was little so she could make jam. She would always say the same thing about looking out for snakes in berry patches. Guess I was lucky. Never saw any.

I never see snakes around ours. We planted thornless as well so no sticking to my plants either. We picked probably 10 gallons from 5 plants I planted last year. Next year will be double.
