I have that same door. I hate it…. But I’ve taken paper towel and taped it over the window because I realized anyone could easily see into my house that way.

Don’t want to scare you— but try to barricade the crawl space in your daughters closet. Saw a forensic files episode of someone crawling through one of those. It’s attached to an attic space that stretches the building; any one in any apartment in your building can get to it

As a single mom having moved few times with no support system - it’s way hardest than people think. You also need to find something close enough to your work, with limited funds, limited time. You need to install furniture yourself, transport stuff yourself, there is no other help. Over and above you got to focus on being a parent and resting before your next shift. Not many people can relate to

If you don’t have pets, sprinkle a thick layer of baking soda on the carpet at night and you can see foot prints in the morning. You can vacuum it up when you’re done.

I wonder if a mental health professional could write something that deems you or your daughter unfit to live there due to anxiety, safety, health, etc. Idk if it would work but paperwork like that MAY be able to get you out of your lease. I’m sorry this is happening to you.

The last apartment I was in the attic space was open across all the units. Someone was going up in their access and then crawling over to other people’s units and going in their place. A girl thought someone was stealing her stuff and put a camera up and they caught the dude. They came and screwed a board across the access so it couldn’t be opened from the attic.

put some tape on all the vulnerable places to access so you know if they were opened. you can put flour on the floor or something too to see if it was walked on or disturbed. I wish you luck friend, im so sorry you and your kiddo going thru this

Get door buzzers like stores have. If someone passes through a doorway over a certain height they set it off. Most people aren’t going to think to duck when walking through a doorway
