i understand when people say that about kpop & karlee girl, but people seem to forget that R&B is HUGE in the philippines and filipinos are very proud to call artists like HER, saweetie, steve lacy, etc. filipino unlike in other Asian countries where wasians/full asians seem to be the only ones accepted/seen as representation. there are south korean establishments & people who are OPENLY racist against filipinos (“no filipino” signs outside establishments) which makes kpop feel more like appropriation to me because they’re openly racist (but obviously not just racist towards filipinos, other cultures too)
