@rickythesteadyinvestor: 🚫📈 Day 10 of not checking my portfolio or the financial news. Almost broke today. Conference in San Marcos, Texas. CNBC playing in the hotel lobby, market clearly having a rough day. Every instinct said go look. But look at what? To do what? I wasn’t going to sell. My contributions go in automatically. The only thing checking would’ve given me is a worse afternoon. That’s the part I’ve learned in ten days: the urge to check almost never comes with a plan attached. It’s just anxiety looking for somewhere to land. So I drove out to the San Marcos Nature Center instead and walked for an hour. Clearest water I’ve ever seen — spring-fed, you can count the rocks on the bottom. A down day I didn’t watch, and an hour outside I’d never have had otherwise. I’ll take that trade.
