And if I’m honest… I’m a little nervous about what that might mean for our nights. We’ve already had plenty of broken sleep. We’ve already had the wake ups. The feeds. The cuddles. The settling. The nights where I’ve completely lost track of what time it is. And now I’m watching him chew on absolutely everything, dribble constantly and generally seem like he’s having a harder time settling. My poor little guy. It’s so strange because I’m excited too. His first little tooth. Another tiny milestone. Another reminder that my baby is growing. But there’s also a tiny part of me thinking… Please don’t let this make the nights even harder. 😂 Motherhood is funny like that. You can be so excited about a milestone and simultaneously wonder how you’re going to survive it. Tonight I’m trying not to think too far ahead. If he needs me, I’ll be there. If he needs a feed, I’ll feed him. If he needs cuddles, I’ll cuddle him. If he needs me to sit with him while he works out whatever is happening in that little mouth of his, then that’s what we’ll do. And when the night gets long, I’ll look at those little lights. Other mums awake. Other babies teething. Other babies feeding. Other mums rocking, cuddling and doing whatever their little person needs. Maybe some of them are also sitting there wondering if this is the night the first tooth finally appears. 😂💛 I think that’s what makes these nights feel a little easier for me. Not knowing that someone can magically make them better. Just knowing I’m not the only mum awake at 2am wondering what on earth is going on. So here’s to the first tooth. Here’s to another milestone. And here’s hoping Riley gives his exhausted mum at least a little sleep tonight. 🤞😂 #newmom #momlife #teethingbaby #motherhood #postpartum
