I don’t have insurance either but i recently found out I have an ovarian tumor that “may or may not be cancer” that needs to be removed but they won’t remove it unless I have insurance or pay $11k

I had emergency surgery for a retinal detachment. No insurance. After the initial bill came for $36k. I filled out the cash pay paperwork. I paid $1200. I would have paid so much more if I had insurance on top of my insurance premiums every month. Do we have insurance now? Yes. Do I think it's silly... also yes. 🤷🏻♀️Especially after knowing all of this lol

We’ve been paying out the wazoooooo for insurance at our business for 5 years. Welp first problem came up a few weeks ago. Now all of a sudden we don’t have the “correct” insurance. 🫠 insurance agents should be held responsible when they sell “incorrect” insurance. Our business has been structured and operating the same since we opened 5 years ago. 😡

I was quoted $4500 (after they billed my insurance mind you) for a procedure. I called an imaging place that could also do the procedure - They didn’t accept my insurance BUT Cash pay was $400

As someone who works in healthcare, nearly all offices offer cash prices. The reason is it’s pretty much a negotiation between office and insurance. Then, patient is responsible for the rest which is unfair.

I needed to get blood drawn to check my thyroid bc I have Hashimoto’s. Hospital wanted to charge me $1300 AFTER a self pay discount. Quest Diagnostics did it for $130 & checked a wider range of levels than the hospital was going to.
