That’s how the hospital showed us when my son was born. Always did the trick! My husband was a pro at it and always got him to burp when I couldn’t.

I alwayssss get better burps by rubbing up the back than by patting. Even at almost 9 months.

That’s how I burp my daughter, she’s got acid reflux though but she cries when I burp her in the middle of a bottle, would just burping at the end mess with her reflux ?

my mom just tickles the babies sides and back a little with her nails to get them to wiggle. it works every time.

I use that technique on my boyfriend's nephew he's 3 weeks old. and he usually burps right as I sit him up but I still pat him on the back to make sure he gets all the burps out

You say sometimes they won’t burp but what if it’s more often they don’t burp then them burping. I dont know if that makes sense. I also don’t know if because he’s a breastfed baby

Sometimes all I gotta do is sit my baby up and she burps like a grown man. And then I’m switch between patting and rubbing her back in a circle and usually get a second burp
