@nextpath.ai: Ya'el Courtney found tiny white text hidden inside an application for a lab technician role. The message instructed an Al hiring system to recommend the candidate and conceal the instruction from the employer. This technique is known as prompt injection, where hidden commands attempt to influence how an Al system responds. A 2026 study of around 200,000 real résumés found similar instructions in roughly 1 percent of them, with their use increasing over time. The trick may seem clever, but it also shows why hiring decisions should never be left entirely to Al. Should candidates be disqualified for trying this? Source: Ya'el Courtney

YeeterSkeeter :
This is great. Basically there's no issues if applications are not being screened by AI since these are injected as invisible text

“Malicious”, “attack” and it’s just people trying to get a fair shot so they can support themselves and their family.

Only a problem for companies whose HR isn't doing their jobs. I see no issues.

We need to get that number up to 100% so they have to manually review each application

calling it malicious is a bit dramatic. I would argue using AI screeners is malicious

'malicious' seems like a bit of a stretch, especially when these companies are using something as stupid as AI to basically reject everybody's resume

well maybe if they actually did their jobs instead of making ai scan everything then this wouldn’t be an issue.

Is this an issue or not? Because applicants wouldn’t have learned to do this if not knowing that employer/HR uses Ai to find candidates right? Or am I wrong?

Maybe jobs should actually do in person hirings again rather than AI doing the hiring for them

All my resumes had the entire job description copied and hidden before converting it into a pdf, not sure how effective it really was but I can tell you I was hired after only two months of searching
