Murray taught an English class at my HS. He constantly changed the rules based on how he was feeling, referred to female students as “woman” multiple times, and weirdly singled out students from specific demographics to aid discussions. His grading standards varied as much as his rules — “how was he feeling that day?”. Constant power trip imo

As a minor who attended the drama program aside from the rules of “if you yawn you do push ups” I was sexually threatened by a roommate I shared a bathroom with, I never plan on going back and am glad I was not the only one who experienced discomfort at the school

it’s taken a few days to compose my thoughts, but i’m absolutely grief-stricken for the survivors and disgusted that i ever considered that man someone i respected. i talked to his students to convince them to do tech theatre in college, i saw a lot of his productions at heathwood when i was in high school (i even looked up to him when i was a kid), and i saw a lot of productions he was in at trustus, including urinetown. i am also absolutely heartbroken for all my friends who had him as a teacher, who considered him a coworker, or even a friend. this was absolutely disgusting, and i am ashamed that the columbia theatre scene has been so prevalent with this behavior. i am so relieved to finally be getting out of the theatre scene in columbia. my heart goes out to all those affected, most especially the survivors, may they find justice and peace.
