My contracted hours are 41.5 hours per week, did the maths and comes out to just over 14 days sick leave per year, is that accurate? Also is the use sick leave by hour rather than by day apply for full time workers or just part time?

Part time workers got a change in sick leave from 5 to 10 days per year. There was almost no noise about this inequity when it happened. Glad it’s being fixed

So glad this is being adjusted. It’s so unfair on small businesses, a part time worker doing one day a week gets 10 ‘weeks’ per year for sick leave and their full time colleagues get just 2 weeks.

I am so much worse under this government. I work 4 days a week 5hrs. I have a chronic illness I need my sick days to survive.

That’s BS. I work 9-3 technically part time but I work as a counsellor giving my all, exposed to clients who bring bugs into the room and I get less. It’s not like I can get another job after 3:00.

For those clueless, men earn 1 hour leave for every 10 hours work. Females earn 1 hour leave for every 50 hours work

Watching this is America and my mind is blown. 4 weeks of leave sounds like heaven. Guaranteed sick leave that you can cash in. Wow…. We just pray we won’t get fired if we have to go to the hospital.
