I was this person for over two years . I was mentally checked out and had no idea what I was doing. I hid it well. I made sure I always looked polished because if I looked okay, maybe no one would notice I wasn’t. I learned how to navigate office politics and built relationships with the right people just to keep my head above water. Looking back, it was one of the darkest periods of my life. From the outside, it probably looked like I had it together. Inside, I was barely holding on. The money was good, and that’s what kept me there far longer than it should have.
