@saev.charge: Your charging cable is stuck. The charger’s finished, the car’s unlocked, and the plug won’t budge. Now what? Almost every EV and PHEV has a manual release for exactly this, and almost nobody knows where theirs is. It’s usually a small cable, loop or lever hidden near the charge port: behind a trim panel in the boot, under the bonnet, or tucked up inside the wheel arch liner. Pull it, while pulling on the charger plug, and the latch lets go. Before you need it: → Check your owner’s manual and find yours today, in your driveway, not at 23:00 at a charger in the rain. → First try the basics: end the session properly in the app or on the charger screen, then unlock the car and press the release on the port. → Manual release is the last step, not the first. ⚠️ Important: never pull the manual release while a session is live. A DC fast charger can push 400–800V at several hundred amps through that connector. Always stop the charge, confirm on the charger screen that the session has ended, give it a few seconds for the contactors to open, then release. Pulling a live connector is extremely dangerous and can damage your car, the charger, and you. Save this. Send it to the EV owner in your life who hasn’t thought about it yet.
