This is so true. The first time I got call that was when a whole bunch of us went to the Glasgow Mela, I said I'd buy ice cream for the kids and my mum goes "Saher is buying ice cream for you all, go with your Aunty Saher" My heart stopped. I've been Bhajie/big sister to everyone since I can remember but now my age lot have kids, I'm now Aunty 😭

as a slovak man i can relate. few years back i was going on a street in my home village and some kids greeted me with good evening (dobrý večer) that one is resereved for being respectful to older people, otherwise you say ahoj or čau so being hit with that felt like i needed to complain about pain in my back
