Hi! Same situation here. I’ve been living alone in Cebu for a year now. I’m also a self-supporting Civil Engineering student at a private university and currently working in the BPO industry. If you’re planning to work in the BPO industry (though I wouldn’t really recommend it if you have other options), I can definitely give you some tips! People just sending 1 singular unserious sticker does NOT help btw long comments help better.for everyone who is struggling, please hold on. there is someone out there meant to be the person who holds you on those hard nights, there is a better road ahead and i know it is hard to see it right now. it will get better, you have probably heard it a thousand times, it gets annoying but i promise you, in a few years when you are healed it will be something you look back on. if you have people to text, whether its family or friends, you have reasons to stay. one day at a time, grab a coffee with a friend, rip up a page of homework you just cant figure out, go out and enjoy the world in the night when its quiet. you do not need to prove you are enough to someone who sees what you don’t see in yourself. you are more than just a daughter or son or child, more than just a person. you are unique, with your hobbies, your life, your humor, your skills, your interests. there is a better road ahead, don’t let yourself derail before you see it. i know it is hard, but you are worth more than what you see in the mirror, you are worth more than the empty words that one voice in your head constantly tells you. your story isnt over for a reason, because there is something better for you just out of reach and you deserve to be able to reach it. you are loved, even when it doesnt feel like it. you are loved, even when you dont want to hear it. you are enough, even with a failing grade or having to stretch money out for your kiddos. you are doing amazing, even though you dont see it. i know it is hard, but you are closer to the stars than those voices in your head ever will be. you are enough. you are loved. you are cherished. you are worth people just sending 1 singular unserious sticker does NOT help btw long comments help better.for everyone who is struggling, please hold on. there is someone out there meant to be the person who holds you on those hard nights, there is a better road ahead and i know it is hard to see it right now.

Hello I was once in ur shoes. I arrived in Cebu with nothing grand but the dream of being able to study the program I wanted In CIT-U. Yes I'm also studying Civil Engineering and you know what I wasn't able to pass any state U too that's why I enrolled in CIT-U with my report card and hoping to have a scholarship and I did. This August 10 I'll be officially starting my 4th year journey, so keep it up dear 🥹. I still remember I was on the brink of quitting and not continuing my studies during my second year cuz my mom was diagnosed with cancer but God found ways for me to continue and right now I'm still fighting for that degree. I hope a lot of people will walk with you through it. Laban lang we will get there, you will get there!!

Hello! If the private uni you’re talking about is CIT-U, try applying for Non-Academic Scholarship. Applications are open now, no exam and no maintaining grade you just have to pass all your subjects and if you got accepted you will be granted free tuition, as in zero balance. Visit ‘CIT University - Office of Admissions and Scholarships’ on Fb for more info. Best of luck on your journey and may God bless you.

I'm a Civil Engineering graduate from a known engineering school in cebu. I also wanted to work back then but the course itself was very challenging, my advice is if your planning to do part time, don't take full load units because it will drain you. Just one step at a time. Please please prioritize your health. Fighting!
