used to walk 30-40 mins home from a night out in Newcastle city centre to Byker when I was a student at like 18-21 years old, never felt unsafe once. Did the same in Burnley growing up, which is arguably a shit hole, but I was fine 😂

TBH, they probably thought you were the undercover. Since you are walking past them and obviously filming. Try looking at things from outside your specific sphere as if it's the center of other's world. You will see many things differently.

Speaking as a northerner I think you will find most men , especially I think of the older generation, are very protective towards women and will rush to their aid if they are in trouble.
