It's the hardest thing ever to be a parent to your adult child. My daughter was engaged to a total asshole...none of us like him....we never told her. He ended up breaking her heart and in the end she was so mad at all of us for not telling her what we thought. You just can't win.

I swear the people making most of these critical comments don't have kids or not ones this old. Everyone wants to be friends with their kids now a days, hurt feelings are a crime against humanity. parents jobs are not to be to their kids friends. my 15 yr old son said "bro thought we were friends" I corrected him. I'm always in his corner but I am not his friend, I'm his father. our job is to protect and teach our kids, not enable them and make excuses.
