The book of Judges, Kings 1 and 2, Hosea and Jeremiah described period where Israelites mixed the worship of Baal with worship of YHWH but the prophets consistently and historically condemned this. They shares similar titles such as “rider of the clouds” but that does not prove they were identical beings. That was just an ancient title that describes something powerful and commanding with spiritual authority. Again the biblical writers and prophets assert that they are not one in the same

I wrote a history of the Levant in my bachelors. It’s not even that hard to realize that Israelites are/were canaanites. The only difference between proto-Hebrew and proto-Canaanite is who wrote it. I posit that the Torah was written in such a way to divorce the Israelites from the canaanites.
