It's not that intelligence is malleable, it's that educational deficit reduces your ability to achieve your highest score. People with more education have not increased their IQ, they are simply closer to their maximum potential IQ score than those with less education.

I had an extensive argument with ChatGPT 3 years ago on this topic. I've always been aware that environment determines intelligence. Not genetics. If genetics played any part...people who scored 150 points in standard IQ tests will produce children that will score nothing less than 145 points. But that's typically not the case.

IQ is a test score, not intelligence. g reflects performance on specific batteries and is highly environment‑sensitive. Conflating these breaks causal inference in twin models. IQ has limited use outside diagnostics or narrow educational decisions.

The majority of twin studies account for education, and education has a less and less meaningful effect on IQ with age. IQ is just a proxy for genetic G, anyway.
