@dealswithshanec: Here’s how to make the best, anti-inflammatory, immune boosting, magic shot. 5 minutes of prep time. Follow for more simple healthy recipes! Ingredients: Ginger - 2 ½ big thumbs Turmeric - 5-6 medium thumbs Black pepper - 1 Tbsp Cayenne pepper - 1 Tbsp Lemons - 2 Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) - 3 Tbsp Raw honey - 2-3 Tbsp Preparation: Add the ginger and turmeric to a blender with 1 cup of water and blend them together. Then add them into a pot with 3.25 more cups of water. Alternatively, you can grate the ginger and turmeric and then add them into a pot with 1 liter of water. Add the freshly ground black pepper and cayenne to the pot. Bring to a boil and reduce the heat to a simmer for 20 min. This is going to transform the ginger into shogals, a compound that’s 10 times more anti-inflammatory than unboiled ginger, while making it last longer in your refrigerator. Pure upside! Store in glass jars and let it cool in the fridge. Before you drink, add the heat sensitive ingredients - lemon juice, extra-virgin olive oil, and honey. To maximize their benefits, we add these in cold. The EVOO is critical because we need a fat as the carrier for the curcumin in the turmeric, plus it is packed with antioxidants and polyphenols. Shake and enjoy your super healing, anti-inflammatory immune boosting magic shot. Just make it! #gingershots #turmeric #immunesupport #antiinflammatory #immuneboost

Surely boiling destroys a bunch of the nutrients right? I’ve been doing this for 2 years - no heat. Trust me.

I think the boiling actually takes away a lot of the nutrients. Maybe if you just simmer for a long time instead of boil. No, I'm not as rocket scientists.
