I oh cat that does buttons, and she truly understands travel and going away, so I started talking to my cats and letting them know how long I would be gone and showing them on the calendar and I lead up to it for a few weeks - and I try to reiterate I’m leaving for these many days. I will be home this day.

Your roommate should be holding her and telling her that you're coming back and put you on the phone I used to pet it. This is very important. Your cat can get very sick while you're gone.

I once had a 10 day holiday and I was informed that she cried for the 10 days….i came back to her with little voice left 😭😭 You must tell them you’re going away 🥺, I feel like they may have understood a little

I wish people understood how important it is to talk to your cats like they are a roommate. Tell them what is going on in the house when people are coming over when they’re leaving. Most of them understand with great clarity and this information does matter to them. Going out of town requires a lot of conversationit will matter to them. Guaranteed
