I know I have seen this and left a complaint!! How are the kids not knowing that this is wrong thought even if it was there first lesson you can hear the sound of the whip smacking ther horse!!! It is absolutely horrible they need to be shut down or something!! xx

To say this is the ridding school I used to go to I fell sick to my stomach no horse should be treated like this especially in a ridding school as there teaching kids to whip there horses like this and they will grow up to think this is okay 😡😡

The whip is supposed to be a training aid or an extension of your leg, NEVER A PUNISHMENT! If my horse naps I DO NOT use a whip. What I do use the whip for is when the horse is already relaxed and going along, usually in trot, and they need to remember to engage the hind end and even then it’s a tap! If you’re walking and they are ignoring your leg a little tap again is better then pony club kicking and lastly I use the whip to back up my leg if a horse is struggling to push through with the hind leg into the canter, again as you stick your leg on you give a little tap to help them remember which leg needs to come through and even then you should only need to do that twice in a session for them to remember. And again, this is all ONCE and a TAP, NEVER should your hand be coming off the reins. This is a disgusting way to be teaching children to ride and a disgusting way to be treating a horse! What are they teaching though? These children will go and loan a pony and try that and be banned…or go to buy a horse and try that and be launched into oblivion. This is NOT teaching children to actually ride or be horse people…disgrace

Lesley Walton is not a BHS Accredited Coach and is not on the database. Who knows what her qualifications are but that is false info that is circulating. What she is doing is awful and needs to be investigated.
