It's the one who does these seven things: 1️⃣ They give you credit in rooms you're not in. The real test of a boss isn't how they treat you to your face, it's what your name is attached to when you're nowhere near the conversation. 2️⃣ They teach you the politics instead of protecting you from it. They show you how decisions get made, who matters, and where you're being talked about. 3️⃣ They give you hard feedback directly and fast. They don't save it for review season because they'd rather you hear it from them than lose an opportunity over it. 4️⃣ They actively push to get you promoted, even when it means losing you from their own team. A unicorn boss is building you to leave them, not stay dependent on them. 5️⃣ They take the blame up and hand the credit down. When it goes wrong, they own it. When it goes right, your name travels upward. 6️⃣ They make you visible to the people two levels up. They put you in front of the decision makers who will one day sign off on your next move. 7️⃣ They treat your ambition as the point, not a threat. They're not competing with or hoarding you. They see building you as the job. If your boss clears even half of this list, think very hard before you leave. And if they clear none of it, you already have your answer about why you feel stuck.
