yes!!! I've been 3 times- Asakusa is absolutely the best place to stay for first timers. I was a big fan of Super Hotel Asakusa!

asakusa sure has its charm, but it’s quite a bit far from the center of town or the other touristy parts of tokyo. still accessible, but if you’re with children or prefer to have a rest in the middle of the day, the commute might be a bit bothersome. when making itinerary don’t forget to account for travel time between your accommodation and your places-to-visit!
