Islam is so misunderstood as a muslim girl I used to have a love-hate relationship with my faith as I grew older and started reading and researching more I realized that many of the things I disagreed with came from misunderstanding the message cuz the Quran itself is so hard to read and to understand the message completely it contains a lot of metaphors and context so a surface reading can easily lead to the wrong conclusion

I disagree with her because one of her questions was “Who are you without religion?” But we could ask her the same question, who would she be without the experiences and people who shaped her, like her father? She wouldn’t be the same Liz she is today. Religion can shape people too, we may be born into it but as adults we can question it, leave it or choose to stay. Being born into a religion wasn’t my choice, but continuing to believe in it is

I’ve always been vocal about this. Islam is a very misunderstood religion . I believe every religion is beautiful in its own way, and each has something meaningful to offer we don’t all have to share the same beliefs to choose empathy, respect, and understanding
