@twiddyobx: A rare sighting on the 4x4 beaches today! 🐢🌊 This leatherback sea turtle came ashore in Carova Beach around 4 a.m. to lay her eggs, typically 80–100 per nest, and this video captured her trek back toward the water. Leatherbacks are the largest species of sea turtle and one of the rarest to spot on our beaches. They can weigh anywhere from 650 to 1,100 pounds! I was there!! People were extremely respectful as she laid her eggs on the beach and returned to the ocean. Turtle conservation was there protecting. They do a wonderful job!!

We are staying down the street where it laid its eggs! I just happen to walk down to see the sunrise this morning and there she was! I sat and watched her for almost 4 hours! Absolutely amazing!!
