@mtiwahaki: PRESS INVITATION SUPER PRESS BRIEFING ON ALLEGATIONS OF PROCUREMENT IRREGULARITIES AT KERRA KISII REGIONAL OFFICE Date: Friday, 31st July 2026 Time: 11:00 a.m. Members of the public, road contractors, civil society organisations, oversight agencies, and all media houses are invited to attend a press briefing on matters of public interest concerning procurement at the KERRA Kisii Regional Office. The briefing will address allegations and concerns relating to: I. Procurement decisions involving the KERRA Kisii Regional Director, Mr. Walter Nyariki, and Deputy Regional Director, Mr. Shem Omari. II. Allegations concerning the award of road tenders that have been questioned by stakeholders and are reportedly the subject of ongoing inquiries. III. Questions regarding the preparation of a professional opinion by Ms. Pamela, Regional Procurement Officer, in relation to disputed tender awards. IV. Allegations of possible conflicts of interest in the tender award process and calls for independent investigations. V. Information regarding complaints reportedly submitted to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and requests for the relevant authorities to establish the facts. VI. Allegations concerning possible undisclosed relationships between certain contractors or companies and public officials, and calls for any such claims to be independently investigated. The purpose of the briefing is to present information and publicly call for transparency, accountability, due process, and impartial investigations by the relevant authorities. All persons mentioned are entitled to the presumption of innocence and an opportunity to respond to any allegations.
