@leahshomestead: Nobody talks about this part of raising rabbits… but nasty water systems can cause BIG problems. 🐇💧 Today I cleaned out the big waterer we use for our rabbits and honestly… it was disgusting. Slime, green buildup, biofilm — all the stuff that grows fast once the weather warms up. A lot of people focus only on feed, but clean water is just as important. If rabbit waterers get slimy and dirty, rabbits may drink less, struggle more in the heat, and harmful bacteria can spread through your setup. This is one of those chores that isn’t aesthetic or fun to film… but good animal care is usually the boring consistent stuff nobody sees. Fresh water matters more than fancy setups. 🌱 #MeatRabbits #RabbitRaising #HomesteadLife #AnimalCare #Homesteading
Put copper in it… we use copper pipe pieces in the chook water and it’s clear as crystal

Vinegar also inhibits algae growth. If you don't want to use bleach, adding increasing amounts of vinegar to the water until you find the ideal ratio might work, too.
