She earned her college degree in Art History and Cultural Studies, and never originally planned on a career in venture capital — she initially thought she would go into the arts. She entered the venture capital industry in 2012, spending nearly a decade at the investment firm Bolt, where she was hired as the first employee and eventually rose to Partner, building out the firm’s venture capital practice and community presence over two funds. In September 2022, McAndrew co-founded Baukunst, an early-stage venture capital firm, and helped raise a $100 million debut fund to back pre-seed and seed-stage technology startups. She serves as Co-Founder and General Partner at Baukunst alongside co-founders Axel Bichara, Matt Thoms, and Tyler Mincey. She has since taken on pre-seed lead investor and board roles at numerous startups, including Bobbie, offe market, Recess, Sylvie, Bindery Books, and Eternal, among others spanning material science and geothermal technology. Her investment strategy is notably concentrated, often taking 15%+ ownership stakes with large single checks aimed at solving founders’ entire financing rounds, targeting experienced operators reinventing their industries through technology. #podc#podcastingp#clipsa#virali#business
