What people don't realize is he's not going to be selling coke and Doritos cheaper he will be selling, milk, cheese, eggs, rice cheaper products that are often tossed because of over production or are shelf stable

Grocery store CEOs also many millions in salary per year. That comes out of the profits. They show losses so they pay less taxes. Also profiting off of food sales is not necessary. Pay the people who grow the food, transport food, prepare food, sell food etc a living wage and that’s all that’s needed. Making more profit beyond putting some aside for operating, maintainence and cost of goods cash flow etc is unnecessary.

Umm he can afford to sell it for less because he’s using taxes to pay and the tax payers eat the losses. It’s an unsustainable business model for normal people because you need to turn a profit.

imagine how cheap food could be if we didn't allow crops and seeds to be patented in the first place

If the government can distribute food for cheaper than the private sector, than the private sector is failing to compete in the market. Corporations should try harder to win customers.

Also, they forget that net profit is AFTER all the executives are paid their millions of dollars, and the marketing department has spent their millions of dollars.

Husband used to do purchasing for a gas station / convenience store. Margins for food items were 30-45%, non alcoholic drinks around 42%, beer 30% minimum, and wine was 40%. 😳😳😳
