We usually use thicker cuts as those kinds of cuts are hard to find in the Philippines are not much expensive. We'll just tenderize it with baking soda.

I love bistek!! My husband and I made bistek with pork the other night. We bought a calamondin tree last year at a farmer’s market in Florida and now we have calamansi fruit growing! They still have a bit of time to grow but they’re almost done! 🥰 We ended up using some lemon to substitute.

We sauté the onions first til translucent then set aside for topping later. Use the same oil infused with onion flavor for the meat.
